In the community
Torstone actively supports and invests in the local community, aiming to help the disadvantaged or disabled and encouraging local sports initiatives. Below are details of our current community activities.
CEO Sleepout UK
While sleeping out for this one night does not compare to the reality for those people who face it day in and day out, the act of solidarity will help highlight the issue of poverty and raise funds for those who need it.On 12th October Brian Collings will be sleeping out overnight at the Kia Oval with more than 100 people from the business community. He is taking part to help raise vitally needed funds to support people who are homeless and living in poverty.
Please sponsor Brian and help send the message that homelessness and poverty should simply not exist in the modern world.
Thank you very much.
We are proud to support Providence Row, a charity tackling the root causes of homelessness. Last year, almost 1,000 people used their services. Working with people to build skills and confidence is the key to success. They do this through trainee schemes, language classes and employment support. The support they provide for mental health and addiction issues helps people to rejoin the community.
In 2013 we supported their new website and digital media classes, equipping people with skills and confidence to return to work.
In October 2012 Torstone sponsored a group of Sense International adventurers on their trek to climb Mount Kenya, the second highest peak in Africa.
Beckenham and Bromley Hockey club
Torstone have sponsored all of Beckenham and Bromley Hockey club’s teams for a year.
